Washington Crash Kills One And Injures Two Senior Citizens
September 21, 2011
Accidents that leave a healthy, young person virtually unscathed can be deadly for fragile, elderly individuals. That was the case Tuesday for three women in their 80’s were leaving Shari’s Restaurant in Shoreline, Washington. King 5 News reports that the women had just wrapped up a lunch date moments before the crash.
The women were riding together in a Honda Accord when the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a pole in the parking lot. Witnesses say the lights in the nearby building shook when the collision occurred. One female witness reports, “We just heard a loud bang. You could see the lights shaking. Sounded like something hit the building….It really breaks my heart.” Airbags deployed, which may have played a part in the death of the front seat passenger. The driver and the other passenger were listed in critical condition following the crash.
