Rookie Officer dies in Seattle auto accident

The Seattle Post-Intelligencer reported that a 26-year-old rookie Seattle police officer died in a Washington car accident Tuesday on Interstate 5. The Seattle auto accident victim was sworn in less than a month ago and is survived by his pregnant wife and 2-year-old daughter. The Washington auto accident was caused when he hit a collision barrier while making a lane change. His vehicle spun and came to rest on the ramp, where it was broadsided by a pickup truck.

19-year-old dies in Seattle bicycle accident

One cyclist died and another was injured in a Seattle bicycle accident with a dump truck Friday afternoon, according to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. A Seattle Fire Department spokeswoman said both of the Washington bicycle accident victims weren’t wearing a helmet. The bicycle accident was caused when the dump truck turned right at the intersection of Fuhrman Avenue East and Eastlake Avenue East. In the past three years there have been four Seattle Washington bicycle accidents and two Seattle pedestrian accidents at this intersection. Friday’s incident was the only fatal collision.

Washington bicycle accident leaves teen injured

A bicyclist was hospitalized after a hit-and-run Washington auto accident late Wednesday night, according to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. The 17-year-old Seattle bicycle accident victim sustained severe injuries when a car struck him and drove away. The Washington bicycle accident happened when the victim was riding in the street and a vehicle struck him from behind.

Three vehicles hit by rocks in Washington auto accidents

Three vehicles were involved in separate Washington auto accidents around 2:15 a.m. on Wednesday in Federal Way according to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. Softball- and basketball-sized rocks were thrown onto the southbound lane of the freeway at 272nd Street. A semi-truck driver was left with glass in his eyes and lacerations in his face in the truck accident. Two other vehicles sustained damage from thrown rocks, but the drivers were not injured.

The State Patrol is looking for information about the person or persons responsible for the rock throwing in these Washington car accidents.

Seven workers reported symptoms after Hanford toxic waste exposure

According to the Tri-City Herald, seven workers reported symptoms after a Hanford toxic waste spill. The workers believe the toxic material exposure has caused the symptoms. The toxic waste exposure happened after hazardous chemical and radioactive waste spilled from a waste tank on July 27. The CH2M Hill Hanford Group, the Department of Energy contractor at the tank farms, said it would not have expected the exposure to have been enough to cause harm. Workers exposed to the toxic materials complained of upper respiratory problems, upset stomachs, dizziness, headaches, and in some, eye irritation or blurred vision.
